Protected no claims ~ can premiums go up?
Comments
-
Hi,
I had a crash on Saturday and i have protected my no claims.
I am aware that if i make a claim i'm protected but will my monthly premiums go up ?
Please advise
A quick search would have answered your question
You've protected your bonus, say 65%. This does not mean that the base premium cannot rise. For example, if your base premium before the accident was £1000, you would pay £350 because of your discount.
If the claim increases your base premium to £2000, the price you will pay will increase to £700. You're still getting your protected 65% ncb though.
Changes will only take place at renewal, so this year's payments should stay the same (unless your car is written off, in which case you'll still owe the rest of the year's premium).
