Certificate of Conformity EU (Kia Sorento)
Does anyone know where I can source a certificate of conformity for a Kia Sorento XE. I need one to re-register the vehicle abroad. Apparently most imported vehicles to the UK have one, but as my vehicle is second hand, the original has neen lost somewhere along the way.
Any knowledgable advice would be appreciated.

I think you'd be best speaking to the manufacturers customer services in the first instance- I don't think I've ever had a certificate of conformity for a car- I think that is all done at a higher level before customers get them.0 -

Yes, you are correct. I went to the dealer today for advice, and that is what I was given!0 -
As mentioned above try the manufacturer directly.
If no luck there you can try VCA and then VOSA.
If the vehicle was imported into UK then it would have needed Certificate of Conformity (CoC) to be registered here with DVLA. As it's a Japanese import, the intial CoC would not have been enough to register it here in UK, it would have needed to have had futher testing (SVA test). Which would have been carried out by VOSA. So they should have a record of that.
If all that fails you could write to DVLA to have copies of the original paperwork used to register the vehicle in UK which *may* include the Coc or SVA paperwork - but no guarantees!! And costs £5.

Speak to Kia direct. They cannot charge for issuing a CoC, but could charge to "investigate" the history of the vehicle. That's what we did when I worked for another korean car firm!0 -
