Yep u r correct......Consumer Direct have now passed it on to Trading Standards! When I got back in Friday, they had left me a voicemail so I'll be returning that call in the morning & I will let u know of the outcome.
Also, I actually cancelled via email so lucky me I have all the proof! :-)

Also, I must mention.......I DID state that I was aware of my rights under the DSR in the complaints letter that I sent to the Complaints Manager at Head Office....to then get the email back stating 'Thank you for your recent letter. However we will still need to arrange a collection of the goods.' !!!!
Hence my total frustration in the whole matter!

Okay so I called Trading Standards back & they basically advised me to get back in touch with Toys R Us & ask for an address to send it back to myself, rather than arranging another date for them to collect (or not!!!), get proof of postage & file a charge back through my credit card company (evenmore hassle!!).
So last Monday afternoon, I emailed Toys R Us again & asked them for an address to post it back to at their expence. The website claims to get back in touch with people within 48 hours. It is now a week later & I STILL haven't had a reply!
I am totally at my wits end!
I am going to call Trading Standards again tomorrow but I am sick of this. This has been more of a joke than I could ever imagine!
