tv buying

Those of you who watch shopping channels(as I am forced to do by my beloved) should be aware of "bidtv". They charge £7.99 delivery PER ITEM regardless of how many you purchase, even if you buy a dozen things in half an hour on the same day! They claim it's because they have more than one warehouse.... This is a great shame, as most of their goods are very cheap and good quality, but we were fortunate enough to quickly spot the problem and cancel the transactions, being unwilling to part with over £60 for delivery. I should mention that we believe they've been cancelled, but cannot verify this until tomorrow (monday 8/2) so will post again if there are any problems people should be aware of.

Thats why there prices look cheap its a trick. You have to add on the postage cost and the cost of the premium rate phone call (unless you buy online but some items they force you to phone for). In reality there not that cheap, there used to be a Price Drop tv (same company as Bid TV) shop near me which you could purchase items instore - the prices used to be a lot more than on TV but thats because they couldn't charge you expensive postage on them.0

I wish I had read your comments before buying.
I phoned to buy without noticing the delivery charge and then felt embarrassed and went through with the transaction. The item arrived today and was poorly stitched with loose threads on the outside and with a slight nick on the bottom edge. The parcel weighed 400gms so you would pay the Post Office £1.95 to deliver it. They must pay considerably less. Packaging costs for a couple of plastic bags only.
In fairness I received a full refund on the returned item, including the postage charge.
Still a case where it is best to be aware of the postage cost, especially when this more than the cost of the item.0
