rub fresh crushed flowers on exposed skin, or mix a few drops of lavender oil with cream (after sun, maybe?) to make a skin cream.
If you do get bitten, apply one drop of neat oil.0 -
is there any evidece that lavander repels rather than attracts?0

Do a google on lavender +mosquito and you'll find a number of sites that suggest it's a repellant.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Just for the record, you can also repel mosquitos by daubing your exposed skin with camomile tea... I used it a few times and it seems to work.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Citronella oil works better than lavender IMO.
I normally add a few drops to some after sun or body lotion, and rub it into exposed skin. Here I go again on my own....0
