Defaults

Helloo...does anyone know if there is anyway to get a default removed now that it is satisfied or even if the money has been written off and there has been no activity on the account at all?!

I know really that they are supposed to be on for 6 years but is there not like a nice begging letter available to request it to be removed? My IVA finishes in May this year whooo although there are one or two things before the IVA that got settled but the default is still on?!!

Any help would be appreciated, want a nice clean report!

Also....experian credit report is so easy to view but i hate equifax...all rather complicated or is that just me?!

The latest mark on your file should really be your IVA START DATE. Your IVA will be satisfied in May and vanish off your credit file one year later... I think that that is as soon as you could really hope to have a clean credit file. However, beware that your creditors often put marks on your file waaaaay after the IVA started, two years later even! If you're in a forgiving kind of mood you might think that it was just an accident, more cynical people might call it negligent or even passive aggressive... obstructive at the very least!

However it is your right that Experian and Equifax (and whoever else might hold information about you) only holds information that is correct and true - you know when a bank wont help you and keeps saying " blah blah blah Data Protection Act" well now it's your turn! Point out thier duty under the DPA to them and ask them to confirm or correct the information.

If you're looking for a letter, you're probably better posting this request over on the Debt Free Wannabee board where the militants hang out. Might also be worth reading the Credit File Clean up thread at the top of this forum too!
