Holy crap that was painful

My TV recieved a software update over the weekend and since then it turns itself off every 5/10 minutes and turns to channel 5.

I phoned Philips who told me the TV did not receive the update corectly and needed to be sent away for it to be done. As it is in guarantee (by 2 days!!) I sould do it via the company i bought it from.

I rang Comet, and in the space of 15 minutes was put through to no less than 8 people, told to hang up and redial three times and told i would need to take the TV to Comet myself!

Needless to say i was not best pleased with this but eventualy got through to some bloke that was very helpful and has aranged for someone to collect the TV on Saturday, fix it and return it to me!

what i thought was gonna be a 2 min phone call has made me very stressed!!! lucky i phoned today and not at the this weekend when i was planning to do it as it ould have been out of guarntee!!

Channel 5 ? Poor fella. You must be glad when it switches off.

I remember Adam Faiths last words, "Channel Five, it's all sh*t isn't it?"

He might have added "and comet as well" had he lived longer.
I wonder why it is, that young men are always cautioned against bad girls. Anyone can handle a bad girl. It's the good girls men should be warned against.-David Niven

The first and last words of the thread title are mutually contradictory!
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
