Can anyone suggest any sites to try for advance theater tickets for Broadway?
Specially looking for tickets for Wicked during early April.
Thanks

I use a site called broadway box dot come (not allowed to post link) or try ticketmaster.com (rather than ticketmaster.co.uk).0

I checked out a number of sites and most were selling tickets well above the face value -- presumably as wicked is a high-demand show.
At least the sites generally were fairly clear on this...
I ended up booking some tickets via the official on-line ticket seller (ticketmaster) linked from the main theater page, who had relatively low facility charges , so got more expensive tickets at a cheaper price than I could find elsewhere. Am about 1/2 way back in stalls (somewhat to one side).
Interestingly during checkout I was offered ticket "insurance". It offered 14-day money back so I did select it but need to figure out if it's worth keeping. What goes around - comes around

Hi theres
This is the link previously mentioned. It has codes of there to use for some ( but not all) broadway shows.

Your best bet to buy tickets is probably ticket master. When i went to see Hairspray I ordered off ticketmaster and picked up on the night from the box office on the night- very easy and its a site you know you can trust.New York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.

i know your asking for advance booking info.
but we ended up seeing Spamalot when it was still quite new and all the rage and our tickets cost very little as we bought them on the day,
OH went to the box office first thing in the morning and got some,
so if you dont get anywhere with advance booking, you should try asking if they have any.... even if you end up standing at the back its better than not going at all!0 -
I did a "buy on the day" for The Producers in New York, Feb 2005 (funnily enough, had been to see Spamalot in preview the evening before, having bought the tickets from Ticketmaster). Went to the Box Office - not great seats, but it was a Saturday matinee so almost sold out.
There is also a TKTS booth, I believe, in Times Square.0 -
i also recommend www.broadwaybox.com they were great when we booked tickets. (used them in 2007 and booked for hairspray, drowsy chaperone, chicago, les miserables and phantom of the opera) they also have a london section as well if you go theatre in the uk and have also got tickets via http://www.broadway.com/
dont forget the shows have their own websites as well in the case of wicked the broadway productions own site is here http://www.wickedthemusical.com/page.php#
all you need to do is select to collect at box office.
dont forget also, they will charge in us dollars so your credit/debit card provide is likely to change the foreign transaction fee (though if you have post office or santander zero you should avoid these fees, or if have nationwide credit or debit card 1% is charged)MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
If you really want to see Wicked I do think your better booking in advance and no chancing it on the day.
I know quite a few people do buy on the day from the TKTS booth in TS and downtown however I believe wicked is a very popular show and so if you really wanted to see it you should continue booking in in advance like you had planned to then you know you have your tickets. Then no disapointment if you didnt manage to get any when in NY.New York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.

went to see Jersey Boys in NY a couple of years ago. There were no tickets available in Times Square at the booths, the shows that were available weren't the top ones (like Wicked and Hairspray etc) - but lesser ones. However, we went to the box office for the theatre on the Monday afternoon and bought tickets direct from there - the guy told us to come in the afternoon and I think that's when they had all the returns for the week. We had a choice of nights and prices. Hope that helps.Bern :j0
