Best deodorant to combat perspiration

I tried Mitchum and hated it!
I get horrible night sweats and wake up wringing wet many mornings. I since have found the new Sure Maximum protection (or words to that effect). It comes in a white box and i like a cream roll on you apply via twisting the underside. I think Dove also make one too, you apply it just before you go to bed and it helps to reduce sweating. If you use it every other night (it lasts for 48 hours) over a few days or week or so it reduced your sweating to a marked difference and really does work.
My only concern with it all though is the aluminium. I worry about these things...I tried other natural products but have to say did not find anything that prevented sweating- I even found I ended up with a sort of BO scent when I used the crystal deoderants! (you wet it and apply and its supposed to reduce sweating or bacteria or something). I had showered and scrubbed before hand and attempted this a few times with the same result.
I liked the Lush deoderants- they are like a massive peice of chalk or soap which you rub to prevent problems. I would say don't use with clothing that is anything darker then white ! But it can help little and I se the Lush stuff at night.
But do heed the advice above and seek your doctors advice too.0 -
I've tried almost all of the above and found Driclor the best so far. I do find it stings/itches after application but now I apply it at least an hour before bed-time so I'm not kept awake by irritated armpits!0

Sure have got a new one out (forget the name)- maximum protection? It is cream based rather than roll on and it expensive at 5 pound ish, but it really does work. I have tried driclor in the past and although it worked, it irritated me like hell. The sure one has the same effect but doesn't irritate me
Hope this helps0 -
eta- sorry- just realised someone else had suggested this!0

How did you find this out? was it a case of trial and error or is there some way of testing for it?0 -
Ive been a bit more sweaty for the past couple of years and don't know why. Haven't been able to put it down to anything. Ive never been a particularly sweaty person, even when doing a keep fit class! So I was appalled when I started to have underarm odour! Mitchum worked for me and I was quite relieved! I expect you need to try a couple of the products suggested here and you will find something that works.0

I used to have this problem years ago. I suffered with it for years before I started using anhydrol at night before bed. As others have said the itching is horrible! I combatted this by moisturising my underarms after the antiperspirant had dried and this seemed to help a bit. At first I used it every night, then a couple times a week and eventually (probably after a year or so) I found that I didn't have to use it anymore. Not sure if it was the anhydrol or if I just grew out of it but I'm so glad I can use 'normal' deodorant now (I don't even use antiperspirant anymore...)0
