Hehe I'm normally ok with the changing of lightbulbs :rotfl:
But I have an outside light, and the bulb needs changing, I just went out there with some stepladders and had a go but I can't get the glass off. I tried unscrewing it and pushing up with a twist etc. but can't get it off! It looks like this:

Does anyone have one of these? How on earth do i get into it?
Thanks!
Em.

I have borrowed a "Turning tool" with a rubber strap to grip the glass. Going to give it a try tonight to see if it is screwed on and just a little tight.

Hi,
I would think it's probably just tight, even though it should be watertight, the heat of the sun may have 'welded' it a bit.
Good luck, be careful.0 -
Thanks! Bit dark now, so I'm going to leave it until Wed. I have a day off so I can take my time and hopefully not break it!0

Oopsie! I broke it!
The turning tool is great, but I have managed to break the whole thing away from the wall. I'm guessing the plastic has weakened from being in the sun. Never mind, I have an identical one on order so I don't even have to drill new holes!0 -
I suggest that you find out how to get the glass off the new one before you install it.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
lol I will! I tried to find the instructions online before I attempted to take the glass off for the first time but didn't find anything.
Hopefully it will be here soon, it's rather dark in my garden. I nearly broke my ankle coming in from the car yesterday...0 -
Perhaps a bit of grease on the thread?0
