Just bought new car, still need to sell old car!

Hi
I have just bought a new car which I have transferred my insurance over to cover my new car.
My old car which I still have is now up for sale.
I have just thought of 2 problems though, my tax expires at the end of this month on my old car and also it now has no insurance.
Until the end of the month will my current insurance cover my old car 3rd party when taking on a test drive with prospective buyer?
If my car doesn't sell before the end of the month how do I stand with tax, as I cant tax it without insurance, nor can I declare it SORN as then it would have neither tax or insurance if used for a test drive.
Basically do I need to tax and insure the old car until it is sold or is there a way around this?
Thanks in advance for any help suggestion offered:D

It would only be on the road if used for a test drive, other than that it would be parked on my drive.0

The simple answer is no, they both belong to you, your insurance will only cover the vehicle that is recorded with the insurers.0 -
Your car is not insured. So don't forget that if someone steals it or it bursts into flames you've lost all your cash.
Speak to your insurance Co. I'm sure they'd offer you temporary cover if you explain everything. Make sure you tell them it will only go on the road for test drives, which will keep the premium down.0 -
Isn't there a company that now specialises in short term insurance? Try googling "temp cover" or some such. I am sure I have seen them advertised on TV. Just add any charges on the asking price of the car:beer:Only Look Down On People...To Offer Them A Hand UP:)0

Also remember that no "personal" insurance of yours (ie, not motor trader insurance) would cover the buyer to drive the car!
They'd get done for driving without insurance - many do.0
