For my evening guests

Ok so I am only having around 24 people to my registry office and sit down meal this will be my closet friends and family

Then I was thinking when my evening guest arrive to make them feel included in the Wedding and not just there for a party and to give gifts I thought maybe I shal wait until they all arrive and then have our first dance...followed by cutting of the cake and sharing it out and then the giving of the gifts (which we are having a Turkish tradition of pinning the money on the married couple)

Do you think this is ok ? or rude??

normally the first dance is in the evening, cutting cake seems to be as you walk into the daytime meal now. Used to be in evening when i was younger.

We're having our first dance and cutting our cake in the evening when everyone will be there.

Then the cake will be cut and served as a sweet.

I don't think it's rude at all, it's quite normal nowadays!

I feel tight as I am not feeding my evening guests they are basically coming for the party but thought it would be nice to share cake with them as they will be sharing gifts

Ahh, I misunderstood your first post then sorry.

If you are inviting people for the evening, they (or I'd assume) would expect something to eat.

We're having a big hot buffet for our evening guests, but the cake will be served as a sweet alongside it. Our guests will be coming at around 7-7.30pm

If I were invited to a wedding, or party etc, of an evening, I would always expect there to be something to eat there unless I'd been told beforehand.

So I'm sorry, but I would say it was a little rude, if they are making the effort to share the evening with you :o

We're having a similar amount of guests for the ceremony and reception, and we are having bacon/sausage butties for the evening do. I do think it'd be rude not to feed them tbh...could you do a cold buffet?
