When tp plant Onion Sets?

Hi All,

Ive just had a sort out of my seeds etc & paln to sow indoors this week. can someone tell me when i can plant my onion sets?

I have Red Onion - Electric & White - Radar.

I think the beginning of next month would be good, or possibly mid to end Feb if you can cover them with cloches.
Too late for this now- but you can also plant them in the Autumn for an earlier crop as they are hardy

Id give it another few weeks or so yet - end of the month im planning getting mine in

oooops i planted some the other day oh well if they grow they grow...lol

End of March to the beginning of April according to Mr Hessayon. I usually go for the first week in april since I'm in Lowland Scotland. If you put them in too early they'll not grow, they'll just rot.
