Download Driver for t2280 Printer?

Hi,

Not usually on this board but my parents have bought a new computer running Windows 7. They cannot install the printer onto it, despite being told that they would be able to by Comet when they bought it. The disc just says it's not compatible with Windows 7.

Is there a reputable site that they can download the driver from please?

Thanks in anticipation :)

This seems to be the manufacturers download page

    No mention of Win7.

Comet will tell you whatever you want to hear to get a sale, the same as all the rest of the chain shops. It pays to do your own research at home before buying.

I would download and try some of the other drivers, a few years back it was almost normal to use Win2000 or similar drivers on different OS' to get printers to work.

Try the Vista driver as Windows 7 supposedly has the same code base

Thanks for that guys & so quickly too!

I agree that the shop will tell you whatever you want to hear and am angry. I was going to go with them to buy it as they're both in their 70's but Dad decided that he was too savvy to be ripped off - bless him. He is with everything else just not computers.
  • Hi, are you sure that you are looking for t2280 , it is a serial dot matrix big beast if i remember correctly and cost 1000+ each perhaps you may have had a bit of finger problem when posting. Forgive me if I am wrong of course :o
There is a HP F2280 printer that may be closer

Yes a T2280 would look like an odd choice of printer as it was very expensive and meant for fast printing of invoices etc. on special stationary. Not really something you'd expect a couple in their 70's to need.

It was 'T' not 'F' haha. Dad didn't have his 'readers' on when he was looking at the printer. Thank you so much.
