Amazon hacked?

Hi I was looking for permanent markers on Amazon, and suddenly this pop up advertising duck tape appeared. I clicked the x option to get rid of it, but when I ran the immunisation function on the spybot search and destroy program, it says I'm not the administrator. I can not find any other users on this computer. It was definitely an amazon URL (https://www.amazon.co.uk), found through searching what I wanted to buy on google. Now I'm concerned my computer and account has been hacked.
Occasionally when I want to purchase mp3 downloads from Amazon, a message pops up saying data is available to third parties. I have reported this a while ago, amazon just said they were not hacked. I haven't got this in a while and never brought anything when this message appeared. Anyone has similar experiences?

What browser are you using? Get some decent ad blocking software, such as Ad Block Pro for Firefox with the EasyList subscription.
The message about third parties just means some information is being transmitted without using SSL, so if it was intercepted it can be read in plain text. Doesn't necessarily mean anyone IS intercepting it, it's only a concern if it appears on a page where you're submitting personal/financial details. It's normal to see the message when moving from the secure part of the site to the non secure part (i.e. going back to the normal page after paying for something)0 -
or you've got some sort of adware that brings up ads, but it wouldn't be anything to do with amazon.0

Hi I do use ad-aware and as I said spybot search and destroy. I also use the ad blocker on firefox. Darksun, people shouldn't be able to read sensitive data in the first place, that's the point. I got the pop up, which looked like a windows system message, when I would click on the buy button by the song. Just after I got the pop up on duck tape, I ran a scan using ad-aware and something was found and removed, but it still said I'm not the administrator when I try to immunise using spybot. AVG and spybot found nothing.
Flexrider I'll keep that in mind if it pops up again, although I shouldn't get any pop ups/have adware downloaded onto my computer using amazon.:starmod:Student MoneySaving Club member 019!:staradminNo longer a student and very poor, but still loves to save.:dance:0 -

A message warning that data could be read by third parties is quite normal. It means the website is switching from an encrypted connection to unencrypted. This usually happens when you've finished entering private information and you switch back to a standard connection.0 -
Either you mean "duct tape" or you have some strange fetish?
Actually, Duck Tape is a specific brand of tape, so it could well have been an advert for that

It's good security practice to run as a limited user while browsing the internet as if you do get hit by malware/viruses etc then it should do less damage to the machine compared to an admin account.0
