egg money manager - tracking all accounts??

have been looking at eggs website and notice they have a "money manager" where you can set up to see other accounts with different banks online.

how safe is this to do?

also some of the accounts i have are with people like barclays and skipton buidling society, barclays uses pinsentry to sign in and have to use a chip and pin card, and skipton use a plastic printed grid card which you have to put random letters in (IE asks for what the letter at row a collumn 2 is for instance) does money manager work with this techology??

is there any other banks that have the same type of thing?

First Direct's Internet Banking Plus https://internetbankingplus1.firstdirect.com/ibplus/homePage_10.jsp works in the same way as Egg Money Manager. You don't have to be a FD customer to use it.

I find occasional problems with some accounts, e.g. where notifications/offers, etc., are popped up on the registration page.

I've been using EMM for a couple of years. Automatic password entry is very handy. Supports a wide variety of institutions e.g. Paypal. Passwords are stored encrypted in the password safe on the PC you use Egg Money Manager on, so should be safe from prying eyes.

Its main supported browser is IE and with my IE8 it cannot total the accounts correctly. The totals are double what they should be (caches the last recorded values and doesn't zero them when you go into EMM.)

is egg MM working for everyone? It's not been tracking my other accounts for the past 1-2 weeks now and just comes up with an error message

Mine worked just now, it shows all the totals just fine, but when I try to go into my Abbey account the computer freezes. All the rest of the accounts are fine though. I love it.
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

I have been using Egg MM for a couple of years now. Like one other user, it never seems to get the totals right, but recently it just will not communicate with my First Direct, Abbey and Sainsbury's accounts.

I e-mailed Egg, and full marks they got back to me quickly saying there were "issues" with FD and Abbey, and suggesting I reset the Sainsbury's account. However, it seems they aren't really taking the subject seriously, as the dodgy totals issue has been under review for some while now - any half-decent software manager could sort this pretty quickly.

I really wonder about Egg's future - all their decent interest rates are now "introductory", so they probably aren't too worried about any EMM service. Pity though, if they had publicised this it could have got them a number of clients - anyone know of other companies with a similar service?

Both Egg and First Direct's services use the software from Account Unity to run. I prefer to use Account Unity directly - any updates to the system are available immediately (rather than sometimes taking weeks/months to filter through) and I can access accounts in other countries using it too.

I've never experienced any of the problems mentioned above when using it, and it doesn't require you to be a customer of anywhere in particular.

Ok then, tell us more. Like where do you get it from, how much does it cost (purchase and support) etc. I had a look and found nothing recent...
