All these dresses are absolutely beautiful.....wouldn't it be great if we could all have lots of dress changes on the big day and wear all different types of dresses?? I thought I'd go for the big princess style wedding dress but as we're getting married on the beach in Greece, I've chosen a floaty chiffon layered dress from Monsoon Bridal, very Grecian, and I love it!! And a bargain at £200!!But part of me would love a big, heavy, fluffy, sparkly, massive, over the top dress! I want both!!
My daughter is getting married in Gibraltar in August and was looking out for a 'destination' style dress, trouble is they'd originally planned a christmas wedding in the UK and she'd fallen in love with a dizzie lizzie full skirted dress. After a long search she still hadn't found 'the one' and we went back to the original shop to look at bm dresses, they persuaded her to try on the original dress and insisted that it was the one and she must buy that one! The lady in the shop said that sometimes big skirts with a hoop can be better because they allow the air to circulate and don't stick to your legs.
It doesn't matter where you get married, you only do it once (hopefully) so you wear what you want!
Good luck.0 -
This is mine, it's not everyones cup of tea but I love it...
Sottero & Midgley ASM3292 cost £700 got a whopping £685 off!0 -
Not wanting to jinx myself but hopefully this is my dress too, and hopefully cost me £375 - I will hopefully be able to confirm this next week!
(Can you tell I'm very hopeful!)princessbutterpea wrote: »Bump due 22nd September0 -
This was my Wedding dress that I wore in October - Maggie Sottero "Rhonda"
It is the most amazingly perfect wedding dress ever (in my opinion :-D )
It cost £890 and I have just put it up for sale on preloved.co.uk as I just don't have the room to hold on to it....
I hope that it goes to somebody really really lovely that will love it as much as I did.
Oh and PS I thought I looked way nicer in it than the model does :-)0 -
This is the back of my gown. I am changing the bodice of my gown. It's lace and I'm having it replaced with satin and then adding a crystal belt. I bought the dress at a sample sale in the US and paid $1000. I think it was a steal as it's 100% silk duchess satin, which I plan on selling right after the wedding. It retails for $5000!
Check out my planning bio to see the ideas of what the dress will look like when it's finished. https://www.ukpabride.weebly.com/0 -

Thanks snapping-crocodileYes I did actually have it in that colour, it’s called light gold and is a really lovely cream colour. Was a lot more flattering on my skin tone than the white was.

Some lovely dresses on here. I particularly like the short 50s style ones.
My OH's dress was very expensive and far more than we originally wanted to pay. But it was the only dress she ever tried on that felt like the one. She spent weeks searching preloved/ebay for second hand versions but with no luck. So we contacted all of the stockists within a 100 mile radius and haggled the price down. Offset the cost by cutting out chair covers and some other touches that we were not bothered about and finally sold the dress straight after the wedding. So even though the dress was an expensive outlay, we only ended up paying a couple of hundred pounds in the end. We worked out that this was worth it for us but obviously not everyones cup of tea. Plus it only really worked for us as we had a short timescale between buying the dress and getting married so the dress was still current season/in demand/and difficult to get hold of second hand.0 -
Wow cpjackso, that dress was worth it IMO! I'm sure it looked amazing!
Snapping crocodile, that's the colour of my dress, thanks for posting that pic, I've been trying to show people what 'light gold' looks like; our dresses are quite similar too!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
