what should I do? (ebay)

I have been an ebay member for quite some time now and have 100% feedback, but I have never had this problem before.
I put some magazines up for auction stating I only post to the uk and someone in Italy has won 4 of them! Clearly they didn't read my posting limits so I have emailed them and said I only post to uk however if they want the items I will have to charge £7 instead of the £4 stated.
I have recieved no reply from the buyer, can I do anything else? Can I refuse to post? will I still have to pay ebay?
Help please!

tell the buyer the postal costs......some of my nicest customers are abroad!
but, no, if you stated UK only, you dont HAVE to send to italy
you'll have to file a non-paying bidder with ebay, then file for final value fee credit after two weeks you'll be able to re-list for freemoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

Don't you get your fees back immediately if the buyer is 'from a country you don't post to'?
The postage fees in listings are only applicable to the UK, unless you have specified otherwise, so the buyer will have to pay extra.
So file the non-paying buyer report OR send him an invoice with your postage costs.:wall:0 -
I'd just send an invoice with the extra postage cost - look on the royal mail's website, they have a quick postage calculator for overseas so you don't even have to go down to the post office. Their English might not be great, so are more likely just to pay an invoice than reply to you.
If you've listed it as UK only, then I presume they've had to do a search outside of stuff available to Italy to find it, so they should be aware of your UK only policy.0 -
Yes, I'd send an invoice with the relevant postage price on it and see what happens. They might pay up without any problems. I think it's better to make a sale if possible rather than go through the hassle of unpaid item disputes, 2nd chance offers, relisting etc. with no gurantee that the items will even sell again.0

Don't get caught out... make sure you know whether your parcel would be a 'small packet' or one of the other options... they're all priced differently.
(I still can't tell the difference
) My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
I would politely send a revised invoice to cover additional postage and state that you normally do not post abroad but will do so in this instance as a 'gesture of goodwill' which will hopefully help to conclude the sale.
I have posted abroad many times and have no reservations about doing so. There is no difference between posting abroad and the UK except the price. I also follow the golden rule of only posting when funds have cleared and are in my bank/paypal account however long it may take.
eBay is run on an element of trust and as long as you always operate with honesty, integrity and good faith then you have nothing to fear. If you receive rubber cheques or fake postal orders etc then they won't clear and you don't send the goods.0
