Hey all!
I recently bought a new laptop and i've gone into Word and it's asking me to type in a product key.
I've clicked on the icon on the desktop and the two options are
"toPurchase Microsoft Office 2007 today Click here"
and
"To try Microsoft Office 2007 click here"
I'm not sure what to do. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas.
thanks

I suspect that your laptop has come with a limited trail of office 2007. You'll be able to use for something like 30 days or maybe even longer - i'e had a 180 day trail in the past. After that point, to continue to use office you'll need to purchase the cd-key.0

As Hemann said, most people can probably use Open Office for everything they need to do. However, if you particularly need or want to use Microsoft Office, then you can probably find a better deal from an online computer store rather than purchasing directly from the Microsoft store through the website that the program on your computer takes you to.
If you happen to be a student or teacher, then the cheapest way to buy it is here:

Here is another recommendation for OpenOffice, it is wonderful open source software and does pretty much anything the big boys can do and since it is open source it is free

I don't like open office. It's fiddly to use (unless you are just doing basic typing) and always messed up my Word documents. Probably a good alternative for most people though (Microsoft Office is definately over priced).0

If you just want a word processor, Abiword is another good free alternative, so if you don't like open office, give that a spin0
