Do i have a ppi reclaim case?

RBS........LOANGUARD.......MULTIPLE LOANS & CREDIT CARDS.ALL RBS

Joint Loans....1 person insured

1st loan in early '90s & told loan more likely of being accepted with insurance. No way to prove this was said however but subsequently took PPI on every other loan & when my husband applied for credit card,he also took PPI to ensure he was accepted.

Knew we took insurance
Knew husband was the only person named on insurance (told he was the only one who needed to be on the insurance as he was the only one working)....we weren't married for the first few loans (if that makes any difference)
Knew insurance was optional but also advised best to have protection & agreed with that.(Obviously we wanted to be totally protected & wouldn't want to default on any loans)

As I now realise insurance offered no more cover than my husband already has with his employer, it appears that we didn't need it & the cover wasn't as good as we thought.

Considering we accepted the insurance & knew we were taking it.

WERE WE MIS-SOLD?
or
WAS IT OUR OWN FAULT FOR NOT READING THE AGREEMENT?

Seems the difference in judles1's complaint was that she knew the insurance was optional so therefore it looks like "chose" to take it. They could then say it was up to the consumer to read the terms and conditions of something that was actually optional. Don't really know how the complaint would go????
