PGDE advice please

Options
I'm considering going into teaching and doing a PGDE at either one of the local universities. Strathclyde generally has a good reputation but they haven't bothered to update their online prospectus since 2008 so not sure what to think of that. Glasgow has a brilliant reputation which has a slant on teaching in a catholic school which wouldn't be a bad thing (im a lapsed catholic, apparently it can't wash out of you). Thing is you need to provide a reference from the local priest and i'm not into lying to get a reference though apparently this is common practice.

I'd like to teach either chemistry or physics. Undergrad degree is basically biochemistry and i've got 120 points physics in my masters so neither should be a problem in terms of qualifications (higher English B, higher maths C).

Basically I just want to know if anyone has done either course and if so do they have any feedback? I'd be applying this year for the 2011 intake.
