Simple answer to your problems Paul - don't rely on Egg.
You appear to have mis-read me - I don't rely on Egg. I use another aggrigation service.

At the risk of sounding like I'm on commission with Egg - I wish ! - it does more than just let you see your available balance. Once you are logged in, you can access every account exactly the same as if you were using their website totally independent from Egg.
This isn't unusual for an aggrigation service. AccountUnity do it. I suspect Yodlee do it aswell - Wellie?

Yodlee isn't that sophisticated. It lets you view and analyse your accounts but, unless I've missed something, it doesn't let you do any transactions. It does contain links that log you into the accounts automatically though.

This is exactly what Egg and AccountUnity do.

I also use roboform to store passwords, so if Egg is down, I can log into Barclays, or Halifax automatically, without having to refer to my password file.
Trouble is, RF only allows a measely 10 passcards after initial trial period.

I found roboform so useful that I paid for the full product - great value in my opinion.
Karma is a wonderful thing. ;)

Me too - couldn't do without roboform now. Still trying to persuade Mr K to use it though!

Thinking about signing upto this because I have an egg card and savings account..... and I'd get the free £10.

Anyone know if LLoyds allow you to view a standard current account through this program? is it safe?

Is it worth signing upto for a tenner......

I used the Egg Money Manager precisely for that reason.... All ten of them:p Added the Lloyds current account and checked it occasionally in EMM to ensure it showed as still active till the £10 appeared in my Egg Money card account. As soon as it did I deleted access to Lloyds from it and removed any stored details. Was worth it for the tenner and a few weeks of checking back occasionally.
