Need some kind of label for identifying tools...

I need to label some tools (they're tools for electrical things - screwdrivers, wire cutters, rulers, tape measures etc) so it can be quickly identified which set the tools belong too, eg one set might be green, one might be blue etc.
I thought maybe coloured tape would work, but it might peel off and unravel which wouldn't be good. I think I've seen some type of coloured tippex type stuff being used for labelling things like this, but I've looked for it but can't find any.
Does anyone have any ideas? It needs to be something not too expensive, like can't just go and buy new sets of tools in different colours!

Cheap garish nail varnish in various colours. Only need a small blob to show up well. We did this to identify whose tools were whose. Lasts for years - well at leat 30 with ours so far.0

Great idea, thanks! That must be what the 'coloured tippex' that I've seen before was.0

Alternative is paint used for plastic models - was Humbrol enamel when I were a lad (used to be able to get very small tins of the stuff).0
