I was browsing in pc world yesterday and I heard a salesman telling a customer "Yes, a full version of Office 2003 comes with Windows XP, you will find Word, Excel and Access on the start menu."
Surely this information is incorrect, just wondering how many people had been duped by this?

PC World know next to nothing.
If you want to know something about PC's, you should post your question here. Also, PC world is a rip off and there are many sites that are ALOT cheaper!0

PC World do have some clueless staff, luckily I don't need advice form them. However, before we get too carried away with the PC World bashing, if the customer was buying a new PC with Office pre-installed then this could be true. I'm not a great fan of PC World by any means, but unless you caught the whole conversation, you can't be sure of the context.
They're also not as much of a rip off as they used to be. They've been forced to reduce their overall prices through competition and can be competitive when they have special deals.0

It may also be worth noting that their online price can differ from that to the instore price and you can reserve online and then take the slip in store and buy at the online price. I do this for my genuine ink cartridges and they are very competitively priced! Thanks

you are saying that he stated this version of office came with the full XP operating system?
That would be a strange thing to say, but I suspect its more likely you misheard or took him out of context, afterall this wasnt directed at you now was it? Perhaps he was saying it was compatible with XP, or worked well with XP and all the Office features would be accessible from the Start button. I dont see that as a bad thing to say, thats the kinda thing my Dad would need to hear lol.
Anyway, as above, I dont rate PC World advice very highly. I knew a guy who worked there once and although he recieved training and different guys knew different products for sure, none of them were computer geeks or enthusiasts and Ive never been able to have a sensible converstaion with someone who doesnt just appear like a salesman...Debt: a bloomin big mortgage
all posts are made for entertainment value only, nothing I say should be taken as making any sense and should really be ignored0

We've just bought a Sony Vaio laptop through PC world and it came with a full version of office, although its time limited to 60 days i think, then you either uninstall it or pay for a proper licence key to continue using it.Useful is beautiful0
