I'm thinking of applying for the Barclycard Platinum CC as myy Virgin deal is coming to an end.
Today I have paid off £9000 of £9500 limit which is not going to show on my file when barclaycard credit check me.
Am I wise to wait until the new balance shows on my file before I apply?

Thanks as usual

Use their pre-application checker first, this does a soft check on your call credit file and will tell you what you're likely to get.

Obviously if it sais no, or only offers you the basic card, you can come back once the Virgin card is marked as satisfied on your credit file :o

    Thanks tried that-
"Good news 60-70% likely to be accepted".
Should I apply based on this or is that percentage not really high enough?

    Thank sfor the help

Go for it. If they say no, come back when the Virgin account is updated.

I was declined for my Barclaycard in October, but approved in November, so they don't have the "apply once every six months and no more" rule :o

Good luck! Let us know how it goes ;)

slight mistake in the address you entered? It's VERY particular! In my case I have to omit my flat number for it to find me ;)

Has anyone had a 100% likely to be accepted? I just applied after the message 80-90% chance and was refused.
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

I had the same result - I wonder what the 10-20% was I got rejected on?

its now done via Equifax and not call credit which makes sense being that barclays use equifax and not call credit.....
