Mine is an Ipod Touch 1st gen, and its software version is 3.0.
I saw that on eBay Uk, many are selling softwares to unlock iPod/iPhone.
Has anyone tried it? Is it worthy buying?
Note: Since these offers are widely available on eBay Uk, I suppose they are legal to buy. That's why I ask this question before I make my decision to purchase or not.
My sincere thanks.

Why buy it when it's free to download?
google blackra1n (which is what i used to JB my 2nd gen touch running on 3.1.2)0 -
As gaming_guy says, why pay when you can download jailbreaking software for free? But it's up to you...
As for legality, we've just demonstrated that the people are conning you by selling something they don't own to you when you can get it for free; while I wouldn't worry about the "legality" of jailbreaking your ipod, hopefully contemplating my previous sentence will show you why its a bad idea to base your concept of legality on whether or not people are prepared to sell things to you. Not exactly ethical are they?If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -
Thank you for your explanation.
In fact, I used to try Redsn0w, but it didn't work properly, so I had to restore my iPod. Since then, I haven't dared to use any other softwares to jailbreak the iPod.
If something goes wrong with blackra1n, can I safely restore my iPod?0
