Fraud on my current account

    But we don't know who paid the money in. It could be money that is genuinely due to Cashcade .... even though s/he may not have been expecting it.

    Cashcade - you should be able to find out who paid the money in and how. If it was "over the counter" your bank will have a completed credit slip. If it was by BACS they should have details of the account it came from.
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)

    It's more likely to be an account for receiving stolen money, possibly 419 scams. The fraudster can then easily convert it into cash or goods using the card and PIN.
  • I know someone who's sister tore 5 cheques out of her cheque book, not following numbers so they wouldn't be noticed. Over a period of 5 days she stole 9k out of her account and shot through. She never got the money back.
