trex is 7p per 100g more expensive than the lard. And having checked we have a good balance of the different fats, well below the upper allowable limit, I think (fingers crossed) we can run with it in the recipes.

As it's not going to make the cake taste beefy, are you willing to give it a bash?

Also what about some of QOS's breadsticks, with a runnier version of the tangy bean pate served as a dipping sauce to go along with them? Might be quite nice before the pizza? And as you're making a dough anyway....?

    you're an: :A:A:A:A:A

    Ooh, that sounds exciting.
I'm on it. Will go get the stuff tomorrow and create pizza, bread sticks and pate followed by carrot cake. Ooh, aren't I fabulous? ;)

(are the recipes for all of them from the beginning of the thread? Don't remember seeing the breadsticks one...)

Also, I just had a thought about the "task list". Is anyone doing the glossary? Because I would like to volunteer as it would serve the double purpose of me actually learning what these words mean! Basically anything I can make a list of anything I have to google when making the recipe or anything on the recipes that seems unclear to me, sort of clarified. I also know all the student tips for making do with minimal kitchen equiptment!

If someone else is already doing this then never mind but I thought I would offer as I have a pretty free weekend atm.

PoohBear that's fantastic you'd like to go with the month planner. Shall we see when artybear gets back after easter and start then all together or will that mess up Allegra, Frankie, and Poohbear's planning and budgetting? I think ariarnia said she was ready to begin whenever ;)

I usually start my plan to run from the first of the month but if it easier for everyone to start after Easter I am happy to go along with that.

Maybe a silly question but where do I find the definitive plan? Or is it not ready yet?

I just realised that when I follow the plan we will have cake!! We usually only have it a C'mas and b'days.:o

thanks lesley for the excel advice, DH is very pleased he got it right :D we are not nearly so good as you :o Can you do that for the tangy bean pate, pumpkin seed butter and bob's lunchtime pate too, or shall I get DH to do the thing he did?

    xxx

I have loaded the updated sheet back to the workspace. I can do it if you like (I will need to know the number of portions, batches and meals as per the apple curd), or DH can do it if he would like to. Just let me know which so I know if I need to do it, and can you make sure it is reloaded back to the workspace

    thanks

anything else I can do to help the project along? Am fiddling with the nutrition on mine at the mo, altough DP is making noises about cooking him some dinner

The funeral was ok BTW, I was there because it felt like the right thing to do, I didn't know the chap well, he was the husband of a WI friend. I doubt if she will remember I was there, but I felt like I was supporting her anyway, lots of WI friends there too

That's extremely kind of you, :A Howlin wolf is doing a big compilation of the terms we're using and explaining things like how to make a roux sauce, but if you could post some of the terms you think are confusing for a new (but doubtless very talented;)) chef, then that will help her enormously. Would you be willing to contribute to/write about how someone should go about adapting the planner if they are a single person, perhaps with limited storage?

I'm picturing a foolproof, step by step guide to quartering a recipe, with warnings to quarter every ingredient (or the chilli will blow their pants off!) apart from yeast in the bread which needs a minimum amout to work, that kinda thing...?

Or was there any other one that appealed to you from the list? Sorry the one you initially fancied doing has already been started :( I hope you can feel similarly inspired by another one :)

sometimes swelling the numbers so the widow knows he was special is a great contribution I think.....

I'll get you the portions and can you do it please? because DH is a bit nervous of corrupting it :rotfl:

I'm loving the energy and enthusiasm the project has at the moment :T:T:T:T:T:j

    Hi all
Just catching up with thread... so will answer what I remember so far...

That's great Potty, and good that you said what skills were required :) I wonder as well if there's also another job which could be done by someone with less computer experience than the 'deputy potty'.

this person could read the feedback and summarise anything which particularly stands out and that we need to pay particular attention to... Do you think that might help too Potty, or is that something you were wanting to do... or.... ummmm another option!

I might be easier for another person to summarise the survey results,
    than I...
To be honest, I can check so far, but I am not too sure what is good or bad, as I haven't really had alot of time to test the recipes, if you know what I mean :o
Its not something that I really want to undertake, due to personal time ect... but to be honest, the survey results are there for all to see, so its not too difficult to see the trends. :)
    weezl74 wrote: »

Thanks potty :) should i link to this from post 4? Or will you amalgamate it with the existing one?

I've filled all of those in now, except baked bean curry which I'll make today :) I spotted that I haven't updated the veggie burger recipe and the red cabbage had to be axed. Apologies for that. Potty can we briefly 'hide' that survey til I've updated the recipe? I'll do it by saturday :)

After getting to know you on here I am wondering how I'm going to toilet train Fergie without feeling like I am encouraging my son to wee on my nice helpful friend :rotfl:

    stuffing please potty :)

I have linked in all surveys to my post, which you have linked to in post 4 ;)

The links for the veggie burger is now hidden ;)
Can you let me know when the recipe is updated, so I can update the survey :D Ta

I am sure Fergie will be a quick learner ;):rotfl:

Will do the stuffing later tonight :)

    artybearxxxx

    Thanks Arty :A
I did see those last night, I have done surveys for those already .....
And they follow in order from your list now. Many thanks again :D

I have put the bean curry with photos in the usual place :)

Aless do you have the headspace/time/inclination to recipecal it?

Are you getting fed up of this and would you like another volunteer to help?
