I meant the butternut seeds :rotfl:

'Course you did. :rotfl: I didn't reach the seed bit as yet, but will be saving them when I do. I was gonna try and grow some - I managed to grow a pumpkin in time for Halloween last year, after three years of trying (and then I roasted all the seeds for snacks and forgot to save some for this year !) - did you have anything else in mind for the seeds ?

I meant the butternut seeds :rotfl: but thank you :) I've never tried growing oregano, I must do that :)

I have some seeds that I saved, last year at halloween.
I am just not sure if they are pumpkin seeds or butternut squash seeds, as I used both at the same time :o
It will be a wee surpise when I grow them :D
You are welcome to a few, if you can stand the excitment :o:rotfl:

Oh and seeds , em i did that with all the BNS and pumpkins ones last year. I somehow managed to use them in bread ahem :o

I recently tried roasting butternut squash seeds with a little oil and salt and they were delicious as a snack. My OH couldn't believe something he was going to throw in the bin turned out to be so nice :) I think I first read about it in Jamie Oliver recipe but can't quite be sure.

Weezle only got a minute and have only skimmed to see if anyone replied re the stock. I strain with a large colander into a bowl then strain with a sieve to get the smaller bits out and if I want a clear stock I line the strainer with a piece of kitchen paper or fine cotton like a piece of old pillowcase. Then cool it and put in the fridge till the fat sets. Scrape off the fat into a container and put in fridge. The stock is then ready to use. The fat can be used for very yummy yorkshires or anything else that you need fat for.

Is this the recipe you are referring to Weezl?

    Pumpkin seed butter
    150g peanuts
    150gpumpkin seeds
    75ml veg oil (100% rapeseed)
Blitz in a food processor until smooth. It’s fairly runny so as not to need any butter spread with it icon_smile.gif

A few questions. What kind of peanuts? Do they have to be plain, salted raw etc
I know i sound daft but i thought its best to check.

    Thanks x
