Hi everyone - I've had an enjoyable, realxing weekend so far. B has been on a girly sleepover so the house hasn't been resonating with the sounds of Paramore from behind her bedroom door for a change. Yesterday I:
1) Sold a few more of T's outgrown things. We have now made over the £64 needed to buy our Adventure Wonderland season tickets so I have ordered them and sorted the cash ready to pay into the bank. :jNow we will have free fun every week from March through to November, he absolutely loves it there.
2) We went for a walk on the beach yesterday afternoon for free fun. We parked a little way away so that we didn't have to pay. The council have recently built an artificial surf reef and the sea is now full of surfers!
3) Instead of paying lots for ice-creams we got a 3 pack of Magnums from Lidl on the way. Far cheaper than buying one from the beach.
4) I bought some unwanted coach tickets off Gumtree so that I can take B on a daytrip to London next friday ( teacher training day) . I had looked into booking the train but it was going to cost over £60. The tickets I got were for £10 each. :jWe shall have a frugal day mooching round the National Gallery I think.
I'm still not sure where we will go today. It isn't as sunny as yesterday, but it is dry so we will make the most of it.
Enjoy your weekend, L x0 -
Morning all,
Just back from a nice few hours at the out-of-hrs docs, my poor DD has got tonsilitis againnnn, thats 6 times now since sept.
Am at my wits end. We've got appt for specialist but not till 19 March. Am going to ring GP again tomorrow and plead for them to request a sooner appt.
Today:
- check online banking
- bought new meds in Boots - got own brand paracetamol & ibruprofen for DD and it was half price
- bought some ice cream to cheer up DD
- need to do a bit of hokey cokey and a pile of ironing
- tidy through and make beds
- roast chicken for tea, which DH will do - he will be home from work by 2.
- take younger DD out for a walk when DH home otherwise younger DD will be bouncing off the wallls
- do all comps ending 08/02
- LSD - just car parking (grrr but no choice) ice cream meds and milk
Lurleene - free fun in London - Nat History, Science and V&A museums are all free and fabulous entertainment, not sure how old your B is but there are things in all 3 for all ages. We did NH & Science about 18 months ago when DDs were 9 and 5, and they loved them!
Have a great day everyone xx0 -

La_escocesa wrote: »Morning all,
This weekend I plan to:
- search ebay for cheap materials to make my wedding invites Still thinking of ideas so not going to buy something just for the sake of it!
- cook bulgar wheat porridge for breakfast and doing a bit of batch cooking (for tonight and one night next week) Chilli was tasty. Looking forward to it one night next week and maybe once again for lunch at work.
- do some reviews/surveys Not really getting very far with this...
- clean the kitchen and bathroom till they shine!! Yippee, clean kitchen. White vinegar was a great invention.
Update - Not really got far with the cleaning (I guess there's always Sunday) but have done a lot more little DFW things than I planned:
- signed up for Lovefilm free trial via Quidco. Woo hoo. £15.
- got a better phone deal and signed up for online billing to save another £1.35
- not bought anything online (for wedding invites or otherwise) even though I saw a million things that I liked. :A Seeing cc#1 with zero balance helped keep up the motivation!
I saw a great low-spend freebie on the other board so bought a magazine this afternoon. Will get mum's birthday pressie sorted tomorrow when I pick up the travel-sized Angel perfume and full-sized shower gel with Glamour. (She always tells us not to spend our money on her birthday...:o)
Enjoying a free night in tonight with a film we taped off TV and some babycham that has been in the fridge since Christmas!
Thanks for the weekend chat everyone!
