aww.. poop... hopefully if they are nice enough, you'll get a small reduncancy package. Also, they have to let you have time off to go to interviews and stuff, so you could say you are regiserting with an agency and have the morning off...

Bunny - you will need to reassess your income for this tax year....so employed income up to 31st March and then self employed income between now and 5th April. You also need to keep a record of your expenses don't forget. I think you will probably make a loss in your first 'period' of trading which will bring your 'earnings' down slightly.
Compare this figure to the figure you gave the tax credit office for this tax year and I guess you will have a small increase up until 5th April. Actually probably not a lot different to what you told them originally given it is so near the tax year end.
Then you need to assess your self employed income for 09/10 and tell the tax credit people what this is likely to be. If you are likely to earn less in 09/10 then yes you will get more. Don't forget you are assessed on 'profits' of a self employed income NOT cash in. So money in - expenses out.
If you are coming over tomorrow we can have a look at it in more detail.
Also when is your holiday year with the co you are with. If you haven't taken all the holidays you are entitled to yet you will be paid for those when you leave as well.Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

I really should change my username I guess, is it easy to do or do you have to start a fresh?
if you have a really good reason you can ask for it to be changed. I asked because if you remember my user name used to be my name and then 29 and I'd signed a confidentiality agreement as part of my pay off from Cruellagate that I wouldn't ever mention other to family what had happened after my redundancy. I wanted to be in a position if anyone needed support to be able to say 'I went through that' and help them."Stay Wonky":D
