What version(s) of Windows are they running? If the router supports WPS you may be able to connect* those running Vista SP2 or 7 without even knowing the password.
*Look under "To add a wireless computer running Windows 7 or Windows Vista Service Pack 2 by using a push button"0 -
they are both vista -
it does prompt for p/w when you connect and then says it doesn't match router p/w0 -
[STRIKE]Lets back up a bit - have any of your computers connected successfully using wireless communication?[/STRIKE]
Forget what I just wrote; I just re-read your first post.
According to the manual the default passphrase is printed on the underside of the router. If that still works, you haven't actually changed it.0 -
Forgot your wireless settings? If you have changed the wireless settings manually and you can’t remember your settings, try one of the
following:
If one of your computers is already connected to your network:1 Browse to the Thomson Gateway Web Interface on a computer that is already connected to your network.2 On the Home Network menu, click Wireless.3 In the upper-right corner, click Details.4 The wireless Access Point page appears. Under: Configuration, you can find the network name (SSID). Security, you can find the encryption.see “7.3 Reset to Factory Defaults” on page 52.
If none of your computers is connected to your network, connect a computer using a wired connection and
follow the procedure above to find out what your wireless settings are.
Another option is to reset your Thomson Gateway and reconfigure it all over again. For more information,

I would not recommend using WEP encryption as it is not secure. By all means use it to test, but not long term. Use WPA, assuming your laptop's wireless cards support it.No free lunch, and no free laptop
