How much do i spend

Hi,
I have read on many posts about tracking spending, this is something which I would love to do.
I have been looking from programmes on the internet but none seem to fit my need, i love playing with and creating spreasheets but at the minute do not have the time.
Can some one direct me to were I could get a useful tool to do this.
I do not want to create a budget at the moment as I have no idea what I am currently spending on different categories therefore I would at this stage just like something to track what I spend in a calendar month and from there I then can think about compiling a realistic budget.
I have tried doing this using pen and paper but always get distracted/loose it. If it were on the computer I would use it more frequently.
I would be greatful if you could give me any tips or advice on this.
Thanks
Jemz

Get a little cashbook and carry it in your handbag and jot down everything that you buy and how much for.
When you go shopping make a list of what you need, mealplan - it all helps to keep the spending under control.0 -

I dont know of any computer based ones as I tend to stick with the little cashbook as I find it easier. You could set something up in excel.0

People mostly use spreadsheets I think (or notebooks followed by spreadsheets)
You could look at www.spendingdiary.com
or see this thread for other ideas

This sounds like exactly what Im after too OP. What Ive tried to do is everyday keep my recipts and every evening for ten minutes write it down { you could put in on the spreadsheet } then at the end of the month add columns up so you know whatyour monthly spend is also and then you have monthly ones and weekly ones . As for birthdays / holidays / xmas etc you will probably spend more on these months .Ebay Bag A Day Challenge 2012- :staradmin
