Car Cycle carriers,,,, please help
I want to take up cycling and have been a few times with my partner. However, I would like to go in the week on my own, but need to be able to fit the cycle carrier on my own car, on my own.
My car doesnt have a towbar/ball and Im not strong enough to lift my bike on the roof of my car. Even if I was, I would need to get roof bars fitted in the first place.
I have trouble lifting the cycle carrier we have now, out of the shed, we cant fold it up because it then needs to have the bolt fittings done every time you fit it to the car again.
Therefore, I am looking for a carrier which is rear mounted, high enough not to need a lighting board, which is foldable (without losing settings), so that I can just have this for my own car to use in the week. It needs to be fairly easy to fit on my own. The one my partner has, doesnt have straps as such, it clips into the gaps around the boot which you then tighten with rachets.
My car is a micra, so cant have straps put around the base of the bumper as these are just plastic.
Any ideas??

Sorry, I don't get it.
I thought this cycling malarky was all about self propulsion... not strapping the bike on a car.0 -
i need to get the bike to a nice flat cycle route to start with, im not confident enough or fit enough yet, to ride it on the roads, ive only done it 3 times and am building up slowly0

This one looks like it may fit the bill, and not too expensive :

If the bike doesn't already have them, change the wheels and saddle to quick-release skewers.
Then fold the rear seats down, and chuck it all in the back. Its what I do, and its much easier.0 -

This is what I use to do - my bike plus two small childrens bikes all in the back of my Micra, diagonally so I could still fit the car seat on one side.
aims for 2014 - grow more fruit and veg, declutter0
