Plus I'm presuming a panel heater has a thermostat? I have a total of 4.2kw electric heating on 24/7 and my total kwh used yesterday for everything was only 47!

My last gas and electricity bill(jan2010) was £94 combined
  • Forget all that i think the gas company are tryig to do to him what they did to me (being british gas i wont find it a surprise because the first month i moved in i was connected to british gas)

i wanted my original supplier which was southern electric, but british gas spun it on me sayin i have to connect to a different supplier for one whole month-cannot understand that rule but i did anyway

went out to work working different shifts 2-10 6-2 6-6 them type of nornal hours, hardly used the gas at all, eaten out most of the time. also may i add,

british gas quote:478.53p for the whole month (jan 09-frb 09)

i found out they mixed my account with previous owners and thry tryed to charge me the bill, the last owner to the property died so i could not actully ask then to pay it, lol

but its worth checking that info out

Okay, rest of the advice is fine, but that is a crazy comment. Terrible drain - having to drive those massive turbines!

£670 over five months isn't that high.

No, to be honest, that's pretty high, I live in a small flat on the expesive economy 7 tariff and my bills aren't that higt and I'm here all the time as I work form home with a computer, printer ect...I'd get that looked into as advised by other posters.

    Is the heater old?
If it is old it maybe using up more power to get the elements up to temperature

Then as an electrician, perhaps you can explain why you made the above statement?

Where do you suggest the extra power went?

Presumably Georg Simon Ohm got it wrong?
