Hi
hope you can help - my mum and her boyfriend are going to Thailand in April and are struggling to get travel insurance because of their age and health problems
Does anyone know of a company which will deal with this? Would be grateful if you could point me in the right direction
Thanks
sam

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.0 -

My father had prostate cancer in his 60's and wanted to go to Australia and had real difficulty finding a travel insurance policy. My mother had a NatWest current account with full travel insurance included and he was covered completely - they were not in the least bothered about his condition. Their Advantage Gold costs £12.95 a month and the inclusive policy includes full worldwide travel insurance. The Oz trip was a few years ago and terms may have changed so it is worth reading all the small print but it may be worth opening an account just to get the travel insurance benefit. The NatWest site says that conditions do apply but still worth checking out perhaps.0

The cheapest insurance we found (by a long way) was when our 85 year neighbour needed to go to the states last year and the insurer (no kidding) was the British Mountaineering Society. Don't worry she didn't have to do any actual mountaineering - you have to buy a membership but this then gets you access to their travel insurance and even though this lady had a medical issue we were quite open about it and they were very clear and helpful. The amount she paid was about £100 cheaper than any other quote (and bless her she loves telling everyone how she is a paid up member).0

I have always found American Express really good for people with pre-existing conditions or who are older (e.g. they covered my 80-year old father to go to the US!)0

I got some good advice from MSE people on my thread, might be of help to you as well.
