E-Cheques??

I sold an item today and the buyer has paid by e-cheque. I've never encountered these before and paypal says the expected clearance date will be 16th February!!!! Does it really take them that long to clear or is it an over-estimate. Also would you communicate to your buyer that you won't post until the cheque clears and warn how long it might take or will they already be aware of this?

You dont need to send item untill it clears, and yes it takes around that long, sometimes longer, im afraid

They usually take quite a while yes, and your buyer may not realise so do contact them. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.0

Usually just means the buyers card is out of date and they have not updated it on paypal. Which reminds me I need to sort mine. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

These are not isolated, but repeated every day.
'Definate', 'Aswell', 'Rediculous', 'Payed'...and the best of all 'Could Of'. How can anyone think that 'Could Of' can actually mean anything. You may as well write 'Could Zebra' for all the sense it makes.0 -
I think this is when someone pays for the item by bank card instead of paypal (not 100% so dont slaughter me) Just had one myself and it only cleared today incidently the buyer paid on the 28th. Paypal email you when it has cleared. I just emailed the buyer to let her know what was going and and why. Beware if the buyer hassles you it will leave there bank account before it clears on paypal but thats standard.

I've had echeques and always just send the buyer a quick message to to calrify that they are aware they have paid by echeque and that the clearing date is.... and I will send the item out, I do this as once a buyer didn't relaise it was an echeque so I had to cancel the payment and she repaid straight away and this time was a 'normal' paypal payment, but otherwise I definately wouldn't send the item until it has cleared.0
