Why is a person that handles your money called a broker?!

When Cap1 were buggingme, in fact any creditor. I simply mention to them on the phone that I wish to have my number removed from their as under the Data Protection act they have to as it is my information. If they refuse I will make an official complaint.
Of course the MSE way of doing this is when they phone you. Saves a stamp or you calling them

Thanks.
There has been a bit of hostility and a lack of gratitude on the forums lately and I just wanted to point it out. In a polite and constructive manner

I have experienced the same with Capital One, for the same balance (£200)
We have recently started a DMP with CCCS, all creditors have had the paperwork yet Capital One still insist on ringing me several times a day. I asked the man if I could have my number removed from their dialler and he told me he couldn't do it because of action waiting on the account. After telling me a lot of conflicting information and getting quite aggressive with me because I couldn't make a payment, I hung up. Phoned back and spoke to a very nice lady who explained everything properly and got my number removed.
It's Santander now that I'm having problems with....I have two accounts with them, they have received the paperwork on the one but claiming not to have received anything on the other - CCCS have now sent it twice and they still haven't received it and still keep calling me. I'm surprised that departments don't seem to communicate.0 -
Did you send them recorded delivery Bunnie? Cap 1 did same to me saying they hadn't received documents even though they replied to letters I included with docs! Keep receipts if you sent them recorded as proof.official dfw nerd club member no 214
