What is this and why is it downloaded when someone wants to chat with me on Facebook.
I understand it is something peculiar to chrome which is my browser.
I am using micosoft vista.
Is it something I need to worry about and can I stop it happening
Thanks

Looks as if Chrome does it when you receive a new message. One suggestion solution
You have to turn off the option "Play Sound for New Messages" in Facebook Chat options (at bottom right : Chat > Options).Owner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them

i think it only happens when your sound is activated too.
A very odd and annoying bug, but the only bug i have fund for it so it not too much of an issue, especially as my pc is on mute 90% of the time.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -

Oh if that is all it is I will turn it off then. Thanks for that.
Edit: I have done that. I don't ever remember turning it on.

You just need to install Adobe Flash. I had the same issue. Once you do that and restart Chrome, it'll 'play' pop.mp3, rather than download it every time someone says anything!Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

Well I have Adobe Flash anyway. I don't need the sound to be switched on. It never was before so hopefully that will solve it. I am just relieved that it is not something malicious“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0
