there is loads you can claim from from the inland revenue off the profit from the house.
For the £100-150 an accountant will cost you a year, i recommend them, as the costs come from the profit too.
These people do it day-in, day-out and will be able to lose some much in places you never would of thought of.0 -
Mrsdarbs, we rent our house out as we live in a MQ. We are also able to complete our own self-assessment which we have done for years, however the £100 or so that we now pay (which we claim back anyway) for an accountant has saved us hundreds and he deals with absolutely everything, no worries.0

I just started renting a flat out, I wrote to HMRC and they wrote back saying I need to do a return. I have found in general, that writing is more successful than phoning and much less stressful!!0
