a friend of mine is banking with a private bank (UBS), lucky him... he is getting hammered with fees of all sorts, transferring money to another account costs him 35£, he is also getting charged something like 190£ per quarter 'holding fees'! i told him about this site. does anybody know if you can reclaim fees from a private bank?
thanks!

No, you’re friend cannot get those service charges back. I suppose, he has a bob or two, so the fees should not bother him, they are the price for exclusivity.
He could always change from private banking and use any old high street bank, like the rest of us, the hoi polloi, has to do . Then there are no charges for everyday services.0
