A Mobile Speed Camera question

I had a worry a couple of days ago
mobile speed camera van was on the other side of the road the back end with camera inside facing the oncoming traffic.
I think I was driving at the correct speed of 30 but not 100% sure. it could have been 35.
My question is wether or not those cameras catch motorists going in both directions or only those coming towards them on their side of the road.
