Search from Sigma Bank UK (Fraud)

I applied for a Sigma credit card on 1st February and have ordered my credit report from Equifax to see if they have credit searched me.

There is nothing in the current credit searches section, but under other searches there is an entry from Sigma Bank UK (Fraud). It doesn't look like a full credit search.

Does it mean I have been refused or do they make the credit search manually a few days after the application?

The online response was that they would get to me within 7 to 10 days.

My credit history with Equifax is clean, only two searches 5 months old, but the whole credit history is less than one year old (current account, mobile phone, Aqua credit card and a couple catalogues).

From my own experience they performed a full credit check + a follow up with Equifax. You may want to give them a call and found out. It may be that you are not going to have enough credit history for them and there are already 2 searches performed within last 5 months.

But the point is that I expected a full credit search, not an identity search (which is what I believe this is about).

Since they haven't got in touch with me, I will wait for the 7 to 10 days and then will give them a call.
