Hi Guys,
Having just read an interesting book, "The Naked Trader 2".
I am very interested to read some more books, getting to grips with investing, share dealing, not something I want to get into over night, but certainly over the next 12 months. I want to think that I am well prepared so am willing to do plenty of research and reading.
Of you people out there who have done a lot of reading, and have gone onto to invest inb various means as a result, what books have you read that were interesting? and how did they help you?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Please give book name and author so I can easily source them.
Thanks in advance.

I read Investing for Dummies (UK Edition ofc
), but by the time I read this I had been a member here for a longtime so didn't really need it.
Other than that I bugged people on here with questions and learnt that way0 -
I haven't read all of these all of the way through yet, and some are just for reference (e.g. the chart patterns book) but I've found all of these helpful in some way.
Technical Analysis For Dummies - Barbara Rockefella (introduction to TA)
Come Into My Trading Room - Alexander Elder (trading introduction - methods, money management and psychology)
Trading in the Zone - Mark Douglas (psychology)
The New Market Wizards - Jack Schwager (biographical, interviews with traders, hedge fund managers etc.)
Technical Analysis of Financial Markets - John J Murphy (detailed coverage of TA)
Winning Spreadbetting Strategies - Malcolm Pryor (examples of specific technical trading strategies that don't have to apply to just spreadbetting, emphasis on medium term)
The Candlestick Course - Steve Nison (intro to candlestick charting)
Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques - Steve Nison (more detailed study of candlestick charting compared to above)
Encyclopaedia Of Chart Patterns - Thomas Bulkowski (heavyweight study of various chart patterns)
Others I intend to get at some point:
Trend Following - Michael Covel
The Zulu Principle - Jim Slater
The Way of the Turtle - Curtis Faith0 -
hmmm.. seems like an interesting book regarding business and taxes...0
-
The Intelligent Investor - Benjamin Graham. A classic 'must read' for anyone thinking of investing on the stockmarket
BLBWe have a climate emergency and need to re-think investing strategies to avoid sectors that are part of the problem such as oil & gas and embrace climate-friendly options such as renewable energy.0 -
Ive been reading James Cramer's Real Money. So far pretty decent.
It as from the viewpoint of an American investor, most principles apply though.0 -
The Richest Man in Babylon
Not so much investing, rather how to grown your wealth. Very easy to read - no technical stuff, just stories set in ye olde Babylonian times.0 -
A few of the books recommend on here are on ebay a bit cheaper than normal such as Murphy, Nison ect
