Your fired

Hello,
My husband works repairing engines for a company for 7 years. A couple of time he was serviced a engine privately for one person at weekends on his own time. Using his own trasport own tools, own supplies to do this. His Company found out and have fired him. NO warning or nothing. In his contract which is 4 years old it says he cannot do other work but does not specify in his own time. Can he get some compensation for unfair dismissal ? Does anyone have any advice on who to speak to in this case. We have 3 children and I look after the kids and without his income we have NOTHING.
Cheers,
Nancy

I would suggest everyone reads the same thread in the employment board so there is one place of replies!

your husband wasn't made redundant, he was fired. Board guides please close this thread as there is a relevant one in the employment section.

    thank you
