We hired my OH's suit from Debenhams- strongly advise taking a look at the site first as they list any offers they have going BUT the shop assistant won't tell you about them and it's only if you go in and say I want the package on the website that was £xx please that you will get the good offer. If you make any changes you will pay full price.
They do tailcoats/long jackets/prince edward suits from £40 +£6 insurance.
In the end we went with a navy suit,waistcoat,caveat for £33 as he didn't like the longer jackets.0 -
I've had the letter from Young's Hire today to say that SRG have now gone into administration. I spoke to the hire bloke at Young's/Suits You and he said that their last van delivery is the 9th December. After that all suits will be picked up from Burtons or Debenhams. They are not taking any more orders from now or bookings for next year.
He said "You should be ok".......Err I don't want SHOULD BE OK!!!!!!
Lucky enough that I actually paid the deposit on my BarclayCard so I'll be having a chat with them to see where I stand.
Don't panic (in best Mannering voice) Youngs Hire are still going strong, SRG are the Suits You part. OH got his suits no problem for our wedding, and Suits You stuffed up the order, Youngs customer service was brilliant and they couriered the right one to OH with 24 hours! Youngs are just moving where they rent floor space!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
we are going to get our suit from suits you next week as our cousin works there so hopefully it will be super cheap

pjm1903...i understand your pain!!!...We hired grooms suit and best mans top hats from Suits you...the wedding was Friday, on the Tues they still hadn't had it in and on the Thurs morn their computer system was down so couldn't advise us if it had turned up yet!!!...On thurs afternoon, 24 hours till the wedding we collected the suit and all was fine EXCEPT the top hat didn't fit!!!!...The salesmans solution was to offer a refund and tell us it was too late to do anything about it despite the fault being theirs and to walk off leaving me in tears!
After 3 hours of driving around trying to find one from other suppliers with no success i finally came round from having wedding brain and made a phone call to the head office...in fairness they couldn't have been more helpful or apologetic...the lady said she would personally get one from the warehouse and courier it to us for 7am delivery and that they experienced many complaints from that particular branch. I don't know how likely it was that she did personally go to the warehouse but it was a lovely touch and the hat was with us by 7am. The branch we dealt with was Swindon outlet village. We have emailed a complaint.
And breathe...All over now!0 -
Phew! You may have seen my other post advising not to use Suits You/Youngs after we've had such a nightmare with them - thankfully we went into the shop last week and cancelled our order - 3 weeks before the wedding!
Got 3 letters on Saturday for 3 out of the 6 guests informing us about the situation so even after everything, they must have only had 3 out of our 6 guests still on their system!!! Grrrr!!! I am SO pleased that we got our money back in time as it seems that we would've been 3 outfits short anyway!
I really feel for those still caught up in this but I can really recommend Debenhams, we ordered our suits with them on the same day we cancelled with Suits You ie 3 weeks before the wedding and 3 of the outfits were in the Croydon store within 3 days of placing the order! Other 3 are going into Reading on Wed eve but their service was really really good esp in the short space of time.
Fingers crossed it works out for everyone!
