Got another 2 now, both for £10 I expect, will be glad when that goes through.
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

They have now added an extra hoop to jump through. I received my claim number, sent off the card and then eventually received a letter asking me to confirm my name so they can make sure they make the cheque out to the right person (despite already saying that they could only make out the cheque to the person detailed on the claim card) and asking for yet another loose stamp or a cheque for £1.50 if I want it sent by Royal Mail signed for delivery. Still, I shall persevere. Thanks for the advice. Even if I only win £8 in the end, it's better than nothing.

got another two confirmation forms for £10 each this week

    Telling me about the sea..."
  • Just got 3 identical symbols, so I'm supposedly entitled to cash sums between £10 - £1million.

I'm willing to give it a go, obviously I'm not expecting anything over £10 but it's worth a shot.

I'm going to go the postal route for sure, no point wasting £9 phoning them for a £10 prize.

Has anyone actually genuinely received money from this?

First of all thank you for your post, OP, I did in fact read all the small prints and sent a request for a claim number via post 3 weeks ago; did not think about the 'no spam' route, but will surely do next time :)

... I don't have a major problem with junk mail - it just gets recycled without being read - but not giving email address is a good idea (I never give my phone number after making a mistake with that once and getting half a dozen cold calls within the space of a week!) as I get enough marketing email as it is.

I agree, my only problem is with marketing phone calls, the rest can be handled easily and does not bother me:

    1- spam e-mail: either goes naturally in the spam folder, or just quickly delete it, no problem as I use an anonymous email address for these spam-friendly situations;

2- spam normal post mailings, I've been practicing the following for a while and don't get much anymore and/or does not bother me as it's actually funny.
    Here is what I do:
some of these spammer include a nice, pre-paid, return envelope; this costs them 1p or so if you don't use it but is, as I do, pack in it as much of the weekly spam I get, they are going to pay lots of postage.
I really do pach them with as much as possible, sometimes even using cello tape to make sure everything fits: you get your little satisfaction, they pay for the postage, recycle my paper and Royal Mail will make more money, which hopefully will save us for future strikes etc. - everybody's a winner but the naughty spammers!

If we all were to do this, I'm sure the volume of spam mail in UK will drop.

Nevertheless, do try it: it does make you smile next time u get a return envelope in your daily mail.

PLEASE MAKE SURE WHAT SPAM YOU RETURN HAS NOT GOT ANY PERSONAL DETAILS / REFERENCE NUMBERS!!! (as they are very noughty boys, and you never know...)
  • I have received 3 x £10 cheques so far, all of which have cleared. Just received another notification I am entitled to £10. It's not a lot, but I do like to beat them at their own game, too.

Just a note that each time I send in a new card I just refer to my original opt out letter, rather than sending another one. It seems to work.

Thanks JulieJesta for this thread. Just received my first £10 cheque :j.
Was a bit of a fiddle having to send loose stamps and filling in the form to confirm my correct name but only took a few minutes so its really money for nothing and I will definitely be doing it again

Thanks for bumping, reminded me to check my junk email address for a code I was waiting on and it was there so going in the post today :)

Have had 2 successful £10 claims, another code arrived safely, and one code failed to arrive. But when I checked a watch was under the 3 symbol prizes so I wouldn't have bothered with it anyway.
