It would be if you were a man.

I checked that I'd entered that I was a woman, and I checked some slightly earlier birth dates, it does revert to 60 for women who are a few years older than me

This is from the Directgov site:

What are the changes to State Pension age?

Currently, the State Pension age is 65 for men born before 6 April 1959. For women born on or before 5 April 1950, State Pension age is 60.

The State Pension age for women born on or after 6 April 1950 will increase gradually to 65 between 2010 and 2020.

From 6 April 2020 the State Pension age will be 65 for both men and women.

I am getting confused myself now! It looks like you are correct.

the esa is set to exclude people with pensions--the old style İncapacity benefit allowed you to have savings and a pension but Mr blair/brown closed that avenue
    That's a load of nonsense.

ESA(C) treats pensions and savings the same as IB.

it does after all the subsequent mails i have received on this matter-i would receive a greatly reduced amount because of the esa calculation-
i have this probably mis-led view that the esa is difficult and stressful to get followed by lots of regular intrusions into my life--the illness i have is connected to stressors and my psychiatrist of old originally ended my carreer because of work's adverse affect on my health --i thrived on work but know how devastating the stress triggered bouts of manic depression is to my life and wife!(and growing to understand things daughter).
