Its a half right?
Then you should at least do 16 - but the best thing is to attempt (you do not have to complete it) at least one 20 - the reason is 16 is great for stamina building but 20 is really the line where you get massive improvements - if you can get there a half will be a walk in the park in terms of distance and therefore your pace over 13 miles will be faster than without such training.
Me and OH been looking at overtraining for distance races and have now decided that even for a marathon it should be possible to overtrain provided you run at a slow enough pace! I am planning on some 25 milers this build up and next time its likely I will run some longer again
However, despite all of the technical aspects there's one really simple thing you can do - be consistent this above everything else is what separates those who do their best from those who underachieve (at any distance) - only you can know what is a realistic target but you will never reach it if you training is not week in week out

Bunny thats all I do tbh....cept I always put mine on an incline of 1% then the magazine says warm up for 4 mins....then do 2 mins at moderate...then fast for 1 min..(not sure it says this but you get the picture).
I press quick start and then set it for the number of mins I want to run for and just up the speed as and when the required number of minutes are up.. I get an electric shock of the treadmill all the time though;)Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Back from walk and had a hair cut on a whim...not great but it had got so long. Took a bottle of water with me to try and stop me buying food just because I was thirsty, which was good and have just had vegetable curry for lunch (no rice).....OH is out and I am enjoying the peace

Bun so sorry about the job, but agree with what everyone else has said.

Claire-can get dried cranberries in the baking section of all major grocery stores-I know my Tescos does them and Morrisons (great wioth chopped pecans and baked camembert!)
Wannabe-I have been told I have the job for the PCSO but am on a waiting list-they said it could be up to a year which will be April/May time. So may just hang on, work as self employed doing Vie parties/ Cambridge until that starts and hopefully be able to manage money wise on that. Will probably stop a payment or 2 with my DMP if I am not working...Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
