New House - Never ending faults - HELP

We have been in our newly built house for almost two years now and the problems are never ending. The biggest problem is the en-suite toilet that gets blocked all the time ( booked 4th visit to get it sorted, stil not able to use it). There are some cosmetic issues too that the builders say cannot be corrected, however the finish is awful. Also my electricity board thingy is in my kitchen cupboard and two shelf could not be inserted into the cupboard - lost out on storage space. Me and my husband have already taken over 10 days holidays between us, how many more are we suppose to take to allow the builders to sort out that should have been right the first time?

Can we claim compensation or money back since I'd regard the house as faulty ( not having built the pipes at the right angle therefore they constatnly block and make a banging noice and extra insulation had to be put in the walls)?

I wont mention the other problems as I'd probably crash this website! HELP PLEASE....

Friends of mine had huge problems with their new build & they ended up getting a very nice, large patio layed for free & also a few days in a top hotel whilst the problems were fixed. They even insisted on the hotel not being a local one & tried to view it as a free break.

I am wondering whether a new build is such a good idea now but I'm sure for every horror story there are many homes without (major) problems>

    What a nightmare.
I would write straight to the managing director listing all the problems so far and say you really want it sorted once and for all.
Can you claim anything under the NHBC guarantee or it is only for structural???
We moved into our new build 12 years ago now,and I must say it was brilliant.Only had 2 small problems, but they were fixed straight away and we got a new patio laid as compensation too!!!!

    Thanks guys....

I think I will send my next list straight to the MD as suggested above and perhaps copy it to NHBC.

WE have ordered a booklet from NHBC which lists the acceptable interior finish but it is well confusing!

In the meantime I'd appreciate if you could let me know how other companies offered compensation and what type of complaints you had!
